Event Details
Morton Hall House is a small country house, listed as Grade ll, dating from the C18th with later additions in the C19th and C20th. It is surrounded by seven acres of gardens and parks designed by Charles Chesshire as a series of ‘garden rooms’ forming a circular journey with a Rock Garden and Kitchen Garden amongst others together with an East Terrace facing the main entrance. A New Garden has been designed and planted in sympathy with the adjacent parkland meadow featuring a dense planting of small ornamental trees. In total there are eight acres of garden and park and commanding views across the Vale of Evesham.
We have arranged a private tour on April 30th at 11am. Our visit coincides with the display created for the renowned tulip festival and we will see more than a hundred varieties in borders and pots. The head gardener or owner will escort us. We will then have a light lunch on the East Terrace or in the Orangery.
Please contact the organizer if you need help with transport. It may be possible to help with finding lifts. Numbers strictly limited so early booking is advised!
Note: Due to uneven ground and gravel pathways, some parts of the garden are not accessible for wheelchairs. Morton Hall Gardens are private and that therefore paths and stepping stones are not secured as they would be in a public garden. Visitors come at their own risk.
